As of 2012, there were more than 2100 turbines in place to generate about 2,900 megawatts. And it’s estimated that this will double again by 2020! But despite all of this interest and growth, wind power is still a small part of Texas’ overall energy dominance. At the end of 2014, only about 7% of all electricity generated in Texas came from wind. But with recent growth and new technologies that can store green energy, wind power is just getting started.
